"Doing The Washing." Al younker is getting some specialized help with the laundry from Art and Minnie Younker. During the summertime, wash day was commonly done "out on the porch: where water slopping between wringer machine and the old tin rinse tub couldn't bother a thing. Whether it was the fun of playing in water, or the soapsuds, or just being considered 'big enough,''helping' was a favorite learning process of all youngsters.
